Chair: Ona Tolliver
Ona Tolliver currently serves as Senior Vice President for Student Success at The University of Texas at Tyler, providing leadership and vision to 16 departments. During Ona's tenure at UT Tyler, she served as Vice President for Student Success, Dean of Students and Assistant VP for Student Affairs, and Director of Student Life and Leadership leading various student persistence and retention initiatives. Prior to arriving at UT Tyler, Ona served as the Associate Dean of Students at the University of North Texas. Ona received her Master of Education in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. She is a member of both NASPA and TACUSPA and currently serves as the chair of the Texas Council of Chief Student Affairs Officers (TCCSAO).
Chair - Elect: Dr. Daniel Maxwell
Dr. Daniel Maxwell has more than 36 years of experience in higher education. He was appointed the Interim Vice President for Student Success and Student Life at the University of Houston – Downtown in late July 2024. Dan has been with the University of Houston System and the University of Houston since January 2012, serving as the Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. He served UH Clear Lake as the Interim Vice President for Student Affairs (2018-2019) and UHS/UH as the Interim Vice Chancellor/Vice President for Student Affairs (October 2021- January 2024).
Dan’s 36-year career included previous roles at Syracuse University, the University of Arizona, Western Illinois University, and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He has direct experience in multiple functional areas including residence life, fraternity/sorority life, student activities, student unions, campus programming, international student services, career services, and student success to name a few.
Dan received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and his master’s degree from the University of Miami. He earned his doctorate in higher education and student affairs from Indiana University.
Treasurer & Secretary: Dr. Urisonya Flunder
Dr. Urisonya Flunder currently serves as Vice President of Student Life at Texas A&M University–Texarkana, where she provides leadership and administrative direction that supports the university’s mission and enhances the overall student experience. She oversees the development, coordination, and daily operations of key Student Life areas, including Residence Life, Student Activities, Greek Life, Study Abroad, the EagleCARES Team, Student Conduct, Counseling, and Special Services such as Disability Services, Medical Services, and Ombudsmen Services. Dr. Flunder brings extensive expertise in crisis management, behavioral intervention, student programming, and event planning.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education, she has held senior leadership roles across multiple institutions. At Odessa College, she served as Executive Director of Student Life, where she led student-centered initiatives and oversaw campus-wide programming. Prior to that, she served as Associate Dean of Students at South Plains College and as Director of Multicultural Affairs at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Dr. Flunder holds a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University, a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas–Fayetteville, and a doctorate from Texas Tech University. She is a member of NASPA and TACUSPA and is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Historian: Dr. Elizabeth With
Dr. With serves as the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs at the university. In this role, she is responsible for enhancing the overall student experience, encompassing academic success, social engagement, and personal and professional growth. She manages the second-largest division on campus, which includes more than 30 departments, over 160 programs and services, 400+ student organizations, and hosts more than 150 career expos and workshops. Dr. With joined the university in 1996 and has held several leadership positions within the division. From 2004 to 2010, she served as the Associate Vice President for Student Development, the division's previous title. In January 2010, she took on the role of Interim Vice President for the division and was later appointed as the Senior Vice President in August 2010. Before joining the university, she worked as a Discipline and Leadership Coordinator at the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. With holds an Ed.D. in higher education administration from the University of North Texas, as well as an M.S. in educational psychology and a B.A. in English from Texas Tech University.
Legislative: Dr. Kristen Harrell
Dr. Kristen Harrell currently serves as the Senior System Student Affairs Officer for the Texas A&M University System with a dual role serving as an Assistant Vice President at Texas A&M University in College Station campus. Dr. Harrell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Washington, a Master of Science Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University. Since starting in her current role, Dr. Harrell has supervised multiple units including Disability Resources, the Don and Ellie Knauss Veteran Resource and Support Center, Student Community Standards, Department of Multicultural Services, Music Activities, and the University Art Galleries. During Dr. Harrell’s 20+ years, Dr. Harrell has worked within and supervised numerous functional areas including residence life, health promotion, interpersonal violence prevention as well as an office that responds to student crisis.
